Peter Dreher (1932): In 1974, he created the first canvas, which today constitutes the beginning of the series Tag um Tag guter Tag, the project of his life. Every day and every night, in a hyperrealistic manner, Dreher paints the same empty glass placed on a table in front of a white wall. The artist has now accumulated more than 3,000 representations of this glass of water following one simple rule: once the painting has begun, it must be finished on the same day. Dreher’s work is a kind of diary in which the artist records the chronicle of a meditation exercise with which he dismantles the rules of painting, deepening the relationship between what we see and what we know.
