Tedo Rekhviashvili (b. 1990) is a Georgian visual artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and mixed media. He is a graduate of both the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and the New York Academy of Art, where he received his MFA. Known for his expressive figurative compositions and experimental approach to materials, Tedo’s work investigates themes of movement, transformation, and the metaphysical dimensions of human existence.
In 2024, Tedo presented his solo exhibition “Memory, Power & Temptations” in Tbilisi, which received significant attention in the international art press, including features in The Art Newspaper, Nasty Magazine, Vogue Italy, and other outlets. The exhibition marked a major milestone in his career, showcasing his evolving visual language and conceptual depth.
His works have also been exhibited at Sotheby’s, the Tribeca Ball, Deck the Walls, and as part of collateral events at the 59th Venice Biennale. In Georgia, his works have been shown at the Georgian Museum of Fine Arts, the National Gallery, and other major institutional venues.
Tedo is a recipient of multiple awards for his work in printmaking and illustration, and his artworks are held in both institutional and private collections internationally, including in Georgia, USA, UK, UAE and Europe.
His recent artistic ventures also include work in cinema — serving as the storyboard artist for the film Another Me, produced by David Lynch, and for Mother for an Hour, directed by Giga Agladze.
Tedo’s practice is ever-evolving, grounded in a deep engagement with philosophy and a desire to question the human condition. He believes each artwork should offer a space for self-reflection and discovery, prompting viewers to reconsider their place in time, space, and the cosmos.
